Rheem AC Installation in Las Vegas: What to Know First

Rheem AC installation in Las Vegas typically runs $3,500 to $7,500 depending on the model line, your home’s square footage, and ductwork condition. Halden Heating and Air Las Vegas installs Rheem systems as an independent provider, which means we’re not tethered to manufacturer pricing games, and we give you a written price before any equipment gets ordered. Most Rheem installs take one full day from the moment our techs arrive with the unit to the moment cold air is blowing through every vent.

How Rheem Products Fail, and How We Fix Them

Rheem builds solid equipment, but after fifteen-plus years of installing and servicing them across Las Vegas, we know exactly where they break down. Here’s what we see most, and what we do about it.

  • Rheem Classic Series condenser fan motors wearing out early. The Classic line (RA13, RA14) is Rheem’s entry-level workhorse, and in Las Vegas heat the condenser fan motor runs nearly nonstop from May through September. We regularly see these motors seize by year seven or eight. Our fix is a direct-fit replacement, and we always check the capacitor at the same time because a weak capacitor is usually what killed the motor in the first place.
  • Rheem Prestige Series compressor contactor pitting. The Prestige line (RA17, RA20) has a two-stage compressor that cycles more often than single-stage units. That frequent cycling causes contactor points to pit and arc, which eventually means the compressor won’t start. We replace the contactor, inspect the wiring lugs for heat damage, and verify the compressor amp draw before we call the job done.
  • Rheem Endeavor Line evaporator coil leaks at the hairpin bends. The Endeavor line succeeded the Classic and Prestige lines in 2022, but the evaporator coil design shares DNA with older Rheem coils that leak at the hairpin bends, the tight U-turns at the coil’s end. We see this on coils that are only three or four years old. Depending on the age and warranty status, we either replace the coil under warranty or recommend a full system swap if the compressor has been stressed by low refrigerant.
  • Rheem heat pump reversing valve sticking in cooling mode. On Rheem heat pumps (RP14, RP17), the reversing valve that switches the system between heating and cooling can stick, especially if the system sits unused in cooling mode all summer and then gets called into heat on a cold December night. In Las Vegas that’s less common than in colder climates, but we see it on units in Summerlin and The Lakes where homeowners run heat on winter mornings.
  • Rheem control board failures from voltage spikes. Las Vegas thunderstorms and grid flickers are rough on Rheem control boards across all model lines. The board is the brain that tells the unit what to do, and when it fries the system just sits there silent. We stock replacement boards for the most common Rheem models and can usually have a unit back up the same day.

Our Rheem AC Installation Process

Every Rheem install we do in Las Vegas follows the same steps, and we don’t skip any of them, because the heat doesn’t give second chances. Here’s how a typical job goes.

  1. 1
Call and book online. You reach a live person at (725) 220-3488 or book online, and you get a live arrival time you can track to your door. No four-hour windows.
  2. 2
Load calculation and system sizing. We measure your home’s square footage, window exposure, insulation, and duct layout. A 1,800-square-foot single-story home in Summerlin needs a different size than a 2,400-square-foot two-story in Henderson, and guessing is how you end up with a unit that short-cycles or never cools the back bedrooms.
  3. 3
Written price, no surprises. Before any equipment gets ordered, you get a written price for the equipment, the labor, the permits, and the cleanup. That price doesn’t change at the door. If I wouldn’t put it in writing, I wouldn’t say it.
  4. 4
Install day. Our technicians arrive in uniform, pull the old unit, set the new Rheem system, connect the line set, braze the joints, pull a vacuum, and charge the refrigerant to the manufacturer’s spec. We don’t cut corners on the vacuum pull, because moisture in the lines kills compressors.
  5. 5
Startup test and vent-by-vent verification. We run the system, measure the temperature drop across the coil, and walk the house to confirm every vent is blowing cold air. If the airflow doesn’t match the promise, we don’t leave.
  6. 6
Guarantee and cleanup. Every install comes with our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. We haul away the old equipment, sweep the work area, and walk you through the thermostat before we go.

What Rheem AC Installation Costs in Las Vegas

Here’s what we charge for Rheem installs in Las Vegas, with real ranges based on the jobs we actually do.

  • Rheem Classic Series (RA13/RA14) central AC install: $3,500 – $5,000 for a typical single-family home. Entry-level single-stage cooling, 13 – 14 SEER2, gets the job done.
  • Rheem Endeavor Line central AC install: $4,500 – $6,500 depending on SEER2 rating and whether you’re adding a new evaporator coil or reusing existing ductwork.
  • Rheem Prestige Series (RA17/RA20) high-efficiency install: $5,500 – $7,500 for two-stage or variable-speed systems that cut summer electric bills and keep temperatures steadier.
  • Rheem heat pump install: $4,500 – $7,000, which covers both cooling and heating, a smart choice for Las Vegas homes that want one system for both seasons.

What moves the price: your home’s square footage, duct condition, whether the line set needs replacing, and the SEER2 efficiency rating. Every estimate is free, and you’ll get the number in writing before you commit. Call (725) 220-3488 for an exact quote.

Why Las Vegas Homeowners Call Halden Heating and Air Las Vegas for Rheem Work

We’re not the only HVAC company in Las Vegas, and we’re fine with that. But we do Rheem work differently than most.

Every Rheem install or repair we do comes with a written price before the work starts, a written guarantee on every job, and a free second visit if anything fails within the coverage window. Our technicians are background-checked and uniformed, and you track them to your door the same way you track a rideshare. We’re also certified to service Carrier, Trane, and Lennox, which matters when a Rheem part is backordered and you need a compatible option fast. We’ve been doing this since 2004 as an independently owned and operated business under the Relay Home Co. network, held to The Relay Visibility Guarantee on every single job.

Andre Fuller, our owner, learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and spent nearly two decades installing and repairing HVAC systems across the desert Southwest before building Halden Heating and Air. He and the crew have logged more service calls in Summerlin than anyone can count, and they know what a Las Vegas July does to a Rheem unit that’s been running flat-out since sunrise.
